Every work of God has a specific contribution to make. The people of God who are destined to do the good works are not generic, each one, as each local church, is to be a chosen expression of Christ.
As individual believers are a part of the body, so is each local church, part of the corporate church body. We are all limited to the expression that He chooses to impart and anoint us with, to express worship, serve the flock and evangelize the world. No single church is enabled on their own to meet all the needs of our present and greatly diverse generation.
Specific environments are key to the equipping of the church, to accomplish His desired end to win souls and nurture them into living the saved life. Not all will be won to Christ by the traditional church. We praise the Lord for each expression of Himself in every believer and in the local churches in our community. Together we can provide place for each expression of Christ, and lose none who are really seeking Him. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Cor.9: I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
In 1990 the Lord directed Jesus Is The Key Ministries to set our anchor down and become a local church. We believe and preach the new covenant that God made with man through Jesus Christ, the liberator. No matter who we are, what we have done, or come through in life, He sets us free. God sent Jesus to save, heal, deliver and transform carnal sinful man, into men and women of God, a people who believe in Him, and choose to live by faith in what they believe every day.
The challenges that come for those who are starters and igniters, in the area of a local church, cannot be compared with taking an established work on to an even greater expression, as difficult as that may be. Much can be said of what the Lord permits for our proving, nevertheless, it has made of us a strong and determined committed people of God, a close, and caring family, and the glory goes to the Lord for the trail that has been blazed through us for others to follow.
New is not bad, there will always be a changing of the guards, watchmen on the walls, the leaders. Joshua 1:2 “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise and cross over.” New is not to be seen as threatening the old, the established. Isaiah 43:19 "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
At JITK the sermons that are preached are by specific direction of the Holy Spirit. We’ve come to call that direction “a thread”. Threads of inspired direction must be accompanied by scripture validation in context to then be sown out, proclaimed, giving the Holy Spirit place to sow in, as it were, a mantle of the Word to those who are graced to hear. We depend on the Holy Spirit to personally tailor each thread to the hearer, so that all maybe be altered no matter where they are in their spiritual walk with God. The body grows up in Christ, and are equipped, outfitted by the Word/Jesus revealed to them who is multifaceted, thereby each one expressing facets of Him as the Lord grants enablement.
We’ve come to know that the Word of God is not intellectual as knowledge that we seek. The Word revealed is to us, precious treasured communication, an explanation of God through Christ that is so much more than information and knowledge. By each encounter with the Living Christ revealed, we are transformed, taken beyond our humanity and our limitations, and we become who we are to be, by the Grace of God through Christ, a new creation, born again of the Spirit, nourished and nurtured by the Word. A people of sight, insight, equipped to function in the supernatural, as the Holy Spirit leads and wills.
We believe that the Lord has brought us up trained for such a time as this. We are positioned at JITK securely for the sowing and harvest. There is always purpose in His sowing. His purpose has become our mission.
The fellowship of believers here are totally awesome. They love Jesus and have an ever-growing appetite for the Word. They are alive and actively investing effort into living the saved life of faith. They are open, in heart and mind, to the Truth. They operate in love and grace, manifesting a maturing in the new nature. They are a giving body. All have come to respect the call and anointing of God on the lives of others as well as themselves. Together we are all in a process to become the product of God’s will. We’re close and embraceable to all that come through our doors.
There is room for you to be part of what God has for us here at JITK. No matter what your gifting and talent may be, it will take teaming up with a body to sow and to grow. Here you can exercise your wings in a loving family environment that is free in the Spirit, while functioning in order.
